We have a very exciting opportunity for an Event Manager to join the award-winning team at Raccoon
Events as the event lead for the National Outdoor Expo. Reporting directly to the MD, this is a commercial-lead opportunity that is perfect for a Sales Manager looking to take the next step up or an experienced
Event Manager
Location: Guildford
Hours: Flexible
Salary: £35 – 40k p/a + commission
Key responsibilities include:
- Define the growth plan for the National Outdoor Expo, strengthening sales and services and client excellence – including identification of key commercial objectives, strategy, tactics, potential risks, industry opportunities and measurable KPIs
- Drive the Outside and Active strategy and take lead responsibility for the retention and growth of client account(s)to reach quarterly and annual revenue and margin targets
- Uphold accurate and regular tracking, trend identification and trimming of department model to drive greater efficiencies, smarter working practices and effective resource allocation where required
- Produce and monitor financial forecasting, billing and processes, including firm control of department spend and reconciliation
- Ensure adherence to all company payment procedures
- Review pricing policies and suggest ideas that drive higher revenue Sales and Relationships
- Take the lead role in developing our value-proposition for the National Outdoor Expo. Suggest new ideas and technical innovations that improve the proposition
- Create a new suite of sales tools to help sell the proposition
- Work with CMO to ensure that marketing spend is within budget
- Liaise with CMO to develop the visitor proposition and increase visitor traffic
- Work with our Head of Content to ensure a strong content proposition is delivered
- Work with Operations Director to ensure operational expenditure is in line with budget
- Attend exhibitions to help generate revenue, promote the site and conduct interviews
- Proactively look for new/smarter ways to improve department processes and procedures to deliver a faster, more efficient service to clients
- Ensure all event documents and paperwork are accurate and in place
- Show a driven, revenue-first and hands-on management style that guides best practice, raises performance and delivers against the Raccoon Events company values
- Communicate regularly with the wider team keep them updated on strategic and tactical department news, developments and results (weekly meetings)
- Work with Event Directors to ensure cross department sharing of leads and collaborative working
- Consistently demonstrate tact, diplomacy, maturity and professionalism in all aspects of your role
- Be accountable for your business unit, complying with all internal processes to ensure quality standards and service propositions are being met
